Bloodstock announces first wave of acts for 2020 Jack Press August 12, 2019 News 136 The dust is only settling on this year’s premier extreme metal festivities, but Bloodstock Open Air have already announced the first wave of acts for their 2020 edition – which also marks twenty years of the indoors-turned-outdoors extravaganza. Announced midway through this year’s festival following melodeath veterans Children Of Bodom’s career-spanning set, Bloodstock continues to celebrate all things heavy metal. Leading the announcement’s charge is a double-whammy twin-thrash attack. Bay Area bruisers Vio-Lence will make their first ever UK performance at Bloodstock, as well as their only UK show of 2020 whilst Phoenix’s political speed-metal meddlers Sacred Reich will make Bloodstock their only UK festival appearance next year. Ragga-rock pioneers and proprietors of the Newport Helicopter, Skindred, will make their party-hard return to Catton Park following their epic set on the Ronnie James Dio stage back in 2017. If melodeath is your cup of tea, a double dose of scene leaders The Black Dahlia Murder and Dark Tranquility will be the icing on the cake you’ll need all weekend. Rounding out the first wave of acts for 2020 is none other than LA’s groove-thrashers Butcher Babies who’ll bring it all to the Bloodstock faithful. Bloodstock 2020 takes place at Catton Park from the 6th-9th August 2020. You can purchase tickets here.
