Birmingham five-piece that are striving to avoid singular genre definitions and pigeon-holing Shvpes have today released the visual for their current single ‘Afterlife‘. The track is taken from upcoming second studio album ‘Greater Than‘ which is due out on 9th November.

Following previously released angst-laden tracks ‘Undertones‘ and ‘Calloused Hands‘, ‘Afterlife‘ ushers in a slice of diversity to the sound Shvpes are mindfully curating. Beginning with a real anthemic, singalong vibe that is matched with the togetherness of the gang cycling together and messing around in youthful jest in the nostalgic visuals, ‘Afterlife‘ shows a slightly less vicious tone to the Shvpes character. This is not seen as regression at all though, rather it hints at the depth ‘Greater Than‘ promises to expound from 9th November – plus the video is overall a good laugh – check it out:

Shvpes are popping up all over the UK throughout October and November, with various tour dates supporting Hawthorne Heights, Bullet For My Valentine and Of Mice and Men as well as a run of their own headlining appearances. The feelgood riffs and singalong nature of ‘Afterlife‘ are sure to see it become a crowd-uniting moment throughout these shows!
