So, you’d like to write for Bloggers Gamut? Bloggers Gamut (www.bloggersgamut.com) is a relatively new music website. Our purpose is to give our thriving readership access to reviews of the latest albums, EPs, gigs and festivals while still providing them with the day-to-day music news. Even better, we like to connect the dots between the music we love and the world around us. So, how can you help? Well the website needs the best content, and plenty of it. If you’ve had experience of writing at any level then we’d love to feature your articles – this could be as a hobby or via university/college etc. We are building a base of followers who like to be kept in the loop of the current trends, artists and tracks and we’ll ensure your articles are shared (via the website, social media and feeds) to every single one of them. Your audience will grow as we grow, the more we put in, the more we get out, and the more we write, the more they’ll see. It’s so important that you’re given the opportunity to grow as writers while still being given a platform to air your work. Currently we are covering a handful of albums we are listening to each week but we’d love to be covering a whole range of albums and EPs, and we need your help to do that! We also need writers to work on the daily news items that bring in such a high amount of new readers. It’s so important that music lovers are given up-to-date news items, tour information and those release stories that drop each week. Bloggers Gamut are also looking for writers to attend gigs and festivals. We can supply guest-list and photo-pit access and obviously access to the artists for interview purposes. All we ask is for a full review of the proceedings and a few pictures if you’re able to get them. We have current writers attending gigs and festivals and reporting back on genres and events they may not have stumbled across if it were not for this opportunity. This really is a position that you can make your own. Why not bring ideas of features to the table? There are so many subjects that may need a more personal touch and our readership is always interested in opinion pieces. The sky’s the limit with this role and as you can see from the above paragraphs it’s extremely varied. Bloggers Gamut is a cutting edge music website and we aim to deliver quality journalism (album reviews, gig reviews, interviews and general music based articles) to our readers, with the aim to expand and become a force to be reckoned with. Bored with the constraints of a traditional music site, we were founded on the freedom of writing about whatever we want – if you’re into genres as obscure as acid jazz, tango-trance, and flamenco-rap, we’ve got a place for you. Seriously, any and every genre is welcome here. Responsibilities… Have a real passion for writing and have an interest in the genre of music you write about Have an interest in music and the music business Be reliable and committed to music journalism Be able to deliver interesting reviews and/or articles Be able to construct coherent articles that engage with an audience Writers can be based anywhere – location is not important We require you to… Be creative Be self-motivating Have strong written skills Be able to work to deadlines and self-manage Bloggers Gamut is a brand new website and therefore this role is voluntary. However, apply now and be part of this amazing start-up. Get your articles on-line via this credible, well respected organisation and take full credit for your work. Send our editor Jack an e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org, with a little info about yourself, what music you’re into, any examples of writing you’ve got (don’t worry if you haven’t, we’re not elitist), and let us know about a band/artist/project you think we should be championing on the site.
