The weather’s getting colder, the days are getting darker, and the Christmas carols are coming out to play. Winter may very well be coming, but that doesn’t mean Summer should be forgotten about, least not festival season.
Keeping our spirits high and might, Download Festival have announced a whole horde of acts for 2018’s edition, playing alongside previously announced headliners Avenged Sevenfold, Guns N’ Roses, and Ozzy Osbourne.
Topping the announcement are the Welsh Wanderers and Download favourites, Bullet For My Valentine, who’ll be returning to Castle Donington for the first time in five years. The shock-rock God of Fuck, Mr Marilyn Manson will also be coming back to Download following the release of this years’ all-conquering Heaven Upside Down.
Australia’s happiest metal band, Parkway Drive will hopefully bring the heat with them, whilst punk-via-alt-rock veterans Rise Against will get the crowd howling through a set filled with their new album Wolves and that giant anthem-heavy back catalogue. The world’s biggest guilty pleasure, Japan’s very own BabyMetal are making their return to Download after their rain-filled debut in 2016, and post-hardcore legends Alexisonfire will bring the mosh with their triple-vocal attack.
Joining them will be touring buddies Black Veil Brides and Asking Alexandria, as well as pop-punk kings Neck Deep, extreme metal pioneers Meshuggah, and gothic alt-metal outlet In This Moment.
Rounding up the announcement are The Hives, Body Count ft. Ice T, Mayday Parade, Dream State, WSTR, and The Pink Slips.
With a gazillion more bands to be announced, next year’s festival is shaping up to be a massive one yet again.
