Twenty years in and Amy Ray and Emily Saliers, known to the world as the Indigo Girls, are politely declining the opportunity to slow down with age and are gliding themselves back into the fast lane, soon to be starting their first UK tour in nearly a decade, centering around their main-stage slot at the prestigious Cambridge Folk Festival on the 28th July.

Having sold over 14 million records, they’re the only duo to have had top 40 titles on the Billboard 200 in the 80’s, 90’s, 00’s, and 10’s. They’ve released fourteen albums – 3 of them platinum and 3 of them gold – and have notched up six Grammy nominations, and winning one of them. Having honed their craft along the years with the likes of Neil Young, Emmylou Harris, and R.E.M., The Indigo Girls have become a formidable live act.

The duo has balanced their long, successful musical career by supporting numerous social causes – the Indigo Girls don’t just talk the talk; they walk the walk.  Having established an intensely dedicated fan base, the duo continues to remain relevant and attract new fans. With their latest release, Beauty Queen Sister, released on IG Recordings distributed by Vanguard Records, Emily Saliers and Amy Ray have secured their spot as one of the most legendary musical acts of this generation.
