If you weren’t already blinded by the light of the fit (but you know it) line-up that MADE festival have curated so far for this year’s edition, they’ve picked up an alleged legend from the streets of Birmingham -where the festival takes place in its cultural mecca Digbeth – and finally made a grand come free, or something like that, as they’ve roped him in to being their special guest.
If you haven’t guessed it already, The Streets’ main-man Mike Skinner will appear as special guest on fellow Brummie, and house-and-bass maestro, Chris Lorenzo’s Bass Mentality stage which already features the likes of Cause & Affect, Holy Goof, and Low Steppa among others.
With The Streets’ cast out to sea by Skinner himself, with interviews as recent as last year stating he couldn’t possibly make another Streets record as he just wouldn’t know how, and some new projects involving Grime pioneer and MADE alumni Kano on the horizon, Skinner’s back-to-basics set at the heart of the city that made him will be one of unexpectedness.
Skinner joins a line-up that includes the likes of Chase & Status, My Nu Leng, Stefflon Don, Sub Focus, Friction, Danny Byrd, Gorgon City, Hannah Wants, and fellow special guest Goldie, among others.
The midday-to-midnight event takes place at The Digbeth Triangle in Birmingham on Saturday 29th July 2017 and you can find all the ticket info you need here
