Onoe Caponoe is back with a bang as he has released music for the first time in two years. New track Suicide City is lifted from his recently announced upcoming fourth album Surf or Die, which will be released in March through High Focus Records.

Featuring production from Jae Genius, Suicide City sees Onoe painting dark images through his coarse use of wordplay and the brash nature of the song is played out further in the music video that’s stylised by distortion and a warped lens conveying the city as dark and twisted. The track furthermore serves as a reminder of Onoe’s talent and will for sure amp up anticipation to hear the lucid rhymer’s new full-length project.

Speaking about Suicide City and the new project, Onoe said this: “The name Suicide City is a reference to living in a city while doing things that could potentially kill you and not caring” Onoe explains. “The song itself touches on this slightly while also talking about me coming back to making rap music”.

With this album I wanted to make it all about good songs, not too deep, weird or overpowering. Something for people to enjoy. If they want I’m sure they can find deeper meaning in things but for the most part I was just creating good vibes, regardless of subject matter.”

Check out the trippy video rife with psychedelic effects, illustrated by Onoe himself and exploring his love of cats:
